About Holly Beers, Ph.D. Holly Beers is an associate professor of religious studies at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, where she teaches New Testament and Greek courses. She loves to research and write, though her primary passion is teaching and mentoring students in their various stages of faith development. She sees her academic work as her primary way of serving the church and believes passionately in the local church as the hub of God's kingdom work in the world. Holly is married to Max and they have three elementary-aged children with Old Testament, rather than New Testament, names: Noah, Moses, and Eden.
